Wow... that is incredible! I agree with BloggerTik, but everyone has their own reasons for doing what they do. We're all guilty of serving ourselves before thinking of others once in a while, but this is just crazy! Outside of the moral issues that lie along creating this behemoth of a house in a poor area, it’s still pretty impressive! But on the same token, I’m totally against doing things like that. Buying in excess knowing that others don’t even have enough to eat is just morally wrong, but again, I’m no one to judge….. But I don’t see this being any different than the developments around Houston. Houston is notorious for having a million dollar mansion next to a shack! We can all see how Midtown, Med Center and the warehouse district are coming up with beautiful town homes, duplexes, and luxury condominiums, just to name a few spots around town. These places were previously resided by low income families. So where do they go? It’s like the rich have every right to stomp on poorer people’s territory with no regard to what happens to them whether it be in India or America. So the people buying town homes in this area, although it’s definitely a smaller scale, are they any better than Mr. Mukesh Ambani?

This is the reason why India is not progressing from a social standpoint. We have multi-billionaires in the country who prefer to spend their money on building a ridiculously expensive house (which they will hardly use) instead of putting money back into the real issues that surround the country.

Now dont' get me wrong...I think every successful person should splurge a little bit to celebrate their success. However, I feel like with everything else, there should be a limit, especially when 85% of the people who can see the house with their own eyes cannot even afford to buy the world's cheapest car (great article by the way SABAsearch!).

Economists say that India is unique because it is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, but only 20% of the ENTIRE population is gaining any benefit from it. Why is that? It's because the majority of the country is falls into the "poor" category, which is being minimally funded and taken care of. If people like Ambani and other insanely rich business men in India would stop wasting their time with building ONE incredibly expensive house, and instead put their money into improving the country in other means, then maybe even Ambani's view from his terrance would be more pleasant AND VALUABLE as he wakes up every morning. Instead, he has chosen to spend his money on a house in which he will be waking up and seeing poverty and misfortune in every one of those 1000 windows he looks out of.
